Kaiyodo Figure Museum Kurokabe Ryuyukan

Over 4,000 figurines!

This is Japan’s first museum specializing in figure exhibitions. The museum exhibits over 4,000 figures produced by KAIYODO, a world-famous figure manufacturer, over a period of more than 40 years.

The museum offers a dreamlike world of dinosaurs, animal figures, nature figures, hero and robot figures, life-size figures, dioramas, and more.

From nostalgic to the latest figures, there are many figures on display for parents and children to enjoy together. Figures of popular cartoon characters, historical figures, and even a Tyrannosaurus are all in one place.

A diorama is developed using small toy figures to dramatically express the world inside the box.

Hands-on workshops are also popular, where visitors can create their own original figures. Not only children but also adults are sure to be fascinated by the experience. Try your hand at creating your own unique work of art.

Visitors can enjoy the charm of KAIYODO’s figures in the five permanent exhibition rooms as well as in special exhibitions held only during limited periods.

Characters from the popular manga “Fist of the North Star” will greet you at the entrance. You will be overwhelmed by the realism and power of the figures, which look as if they have come out of the world of the manga. You will be able to experience the high quality of Kaiyodo figures.

In the first exhibition hall, the history of Kaiyodo and its early works are on display. Visitors can learn about the history of KAIYODO figures through nostalgic works such as Godzilla and Ultraman.

In the second exhibition hall, visitors can see the evolutionary process and high quality of KAIYODO character figures, and get a close-up look at popular anime character figures such as Fate and Evangelion, and be intoxicated by the beauty of their modeling.

In the third exhibition hall, KAIYODO’s signature “Nature Models” are the focus of the exhibit. The box dioramas express the mystery and dynamism of life, allowing visitors to visually experience it.

In the fourth exhibition room, approximately 3,000 types of extra figures released by Kaiyodo are on display. Although the figures are cute and palm-sized, the attention to detail in their modeling is a highlight of the exhibition.

The fifth exhibition room displays miniature figures from museums and art galleries, as well as the “Capsule Q Museum,” which can be considered a “palm-sized museum. Visitors may encounter exhibits that can be enjoyed in the field of culture and art or as a collection.

At the Kaiyodo Museum Shop, you can purchase the latest figures and Nagahama souvenirs. No admission fee is required here.
